Kodaikanal is one of the beautiful hill station in India, it is unique with rows and rows of silky pine trees sloping down to clear, cold streams, spectacular views which suddenly disappear in foamy mist and people bundled up in sweaters and overcoats which is certainly not everyone’s mental image of India. There are many more hill stations in India, however most of them have been smothered by urban development and fuming factories. As we seek peace and quiet in a hill station we are presenting you Kodai Whisper Valley in Kodaikanal at 2133 meters in the Palani Hills, off-shoot of the Western Ghat Mountain range which runs north-south along the west coast of Indian peninsula. Kodaikanal – The Princess of hill stations, is in the state of Tamilnadu, bordering Kerala. Quite Spectacular, with forest, plantations, views of mountains and valleys, and a large picturesque lake in the centre of it all.This is the only hill station in India that was developed by Americans.

Kodai – as it is popularly called, is a cozy little hill town in the state of Tamil Nadu with salubrious climate right around the year (8°C to 25°C), making this one of the most popular Honeymoon destinations. Madurai and Coimbatore are the closest cities to get to Kodaikanal. Both are connected by air and rail from Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. Vans, cars and buses connect the two cities to Kodai. Kodai is a three-hour drive from Madurai or a five-hour drive from Coimbatore


At the level of the road, the altitude is around 2,000 metres (the road being on top of the property). As you proceed down into the valley, the altitude drops to about 1,600 metres. Kodai is at a height of 2,100 metres above sea level and the view is spectacular and overlooks a misty valley. You can see the Vilpatti village on the left and on the right, you get a glimpse of the Palani plains.



Night temperatures during the summer months are around 9°C and day temperatures around 20°C. From October to January, the temperatures are around 4°C at night and around 15°C during the day. Climate – In summer (March to May), the temperature ranges between 22°C to 11°C, and in winter (December to February) 17°C to 8°C. Kodai averages 265cms. of rainfall every year, mostly during the north-east monsoon in October and November.
